My daughter gained confidence as she worked through learning to read music. She loves music and has really grown to enjoy playing her viola. We are looking forward to next year.
MYS typically requires at least one year of instrumental experience to join an ensemble. However, in the firm belief that all children should have access to music, MYS created the tuition-free Beginning Strings program for qualifying elementary-aged students to gain two years of experience before joining our orchestras. This class is appropriate for students in 2nd-4th grade. If you have questions about this program, email production@playmys.org.
