Planned Giving
Estate & Tax Planning
MYS is pleased to offer a Planned Giving Program for those interested in giving through financial and/or estate planning. Planned gifts may include cash, appreciated securities/stock, partnership interests, personal property, life insurance, retirement accounts, and other taxable assets. By giving such assets, there may be significant tax benefits to you. For more information and a list of attorneys who can help you with your planning, contact Executive Director, Diana Scoggins at [email protected], or 503-239-4566. Suggested attorneys offer a complimentary first consultation. MYS is happy to discuss reimbursement of attorney’s fees depending on the nature of your gift.
Why Music Matters
Research proves that music changes the way young people think. When young people participate in the arts, they are four times more likely to be recognized for academic achievement and they have better attendance, lower dropout rates, higher confidence, and stronger writing skills.

What I like about MYS is that it gives me a chance to play in a band, because I don’t have a school band. – Kaitlin, MYS student
