Health Policy

MYS Health Protocols

If you’re not feeling well, stay at home, submit an absence form, and practice what you missed when you are feeling better.

Vaccinations

MYS strongly recommends that participants and volunteers be up-to-date on all vaccinations and boosters. Students are asked about their vaccination status when registering.

Masks

  • Masking is optional at all MYS rehearsals and concerts.
  • If you have been exposed to a known illness but are not experiencing symptoms, please wear a mask around others.

Communication

  • If you are not feeling well, please fill out an absence form and stay at home.
  • If a student has flu symptoms while at MYS, they may be removed from rehearsal. Parents will be notified, and the child may be sent home early from rehearsal.
  • If your student tests positive for COVID or another communicable disease, please submit an absence form, and stay home.
  • MYS follows CDC recommendations.

Returning to Rehearsal after COVID

Students with a confirmed case of COVID-19 should follow the CDC guidelines for isolation, quarantine, and masking. When a student’s symptoms have improved AND they have not had a fever for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication, they may return to rehearsal.

Over the next 5 days, take steps for cleaner airhygiene, masksphysical distancing, and/or testing when around other people indoors. This is especially important to protect people with compromised immune systems and other factors that increase their risk of severe illness. These factors are often unseen.

We welcome questions. Contact production@playmys.org or the office at programs@playmys.org. The MYS health protocols may be updated as needed throughout the season.
