Dear Symphony musicians,
This is going to be my final year with MYS! It’s been an amazing 9 years being part of the MYS community, getting to know so many of you and making great music together.
I wanted to extend the invitation to come play with Concert Orchestra for my final concert! We are playing Wagner’s Overture to Die Meistersinger, one of the great late Romantic pieces of all time! We are also playing the Berceuse and Finale from Stravinsky’s Firebird, one of my all-time favorite pieces of 20th century music.
The concert is Sunday May 14th at 4:00 pm at the Melody Center. There is a sound check that day at 1:00 pm. If you can make the performance date, and would like to sit in on either piece (or both) please email me directly at jeffrey.peyton@gmail.com.
You can find parts on the MYS website. If you’d like to play, please come to rehearsal this Saturday morning (9:30 am -12:30 pm). You don’t need to stay for the whole rehearsal, just the part where we are rehearsing the piece you want to play.
