Symphonic Wind Ensemble students are not required to re-audition if they plan to return to this ensemble next season. However, SWE students who are not currently placed in Symphony Orchestra or Jazz Ensemble should plan to prepare an audition if they are interested in an orchestral or jazz placement.

After you submit the Registration Form, an MYS Staff member will be in touch with you to schedule an audition time. Additional times on your selected date may be available. If there are no available times on the date you selected, additional dates/times may be offered.
Jazz Auditions : Excerpts are not required for students who are auditioning only for Jazz ensembles. If auditoning for orchestra or wind ensembles as well as jazz, please schedule excerpts below. If only registering for Jazz, check the box below, this will bypass scheduling excerpts.
I am only registering for placement in a Jazz ensemble. Students will have 3 days to complete their recording for the provided excerpts. Alternative dates may be requested (please provide 2 options). MYS Staff will contact you to confirm the dates to complete the Scheduled Excerpts.

Releases and Waivers Does your family qualify for Free or Reduced Lunch?* Qualification is based on household income. Note : Enrollment at a Title 1 school where this benefit is applied universally does not meet the requirement if household income qualifications are not met.
Important Information: The $40 Registration Fee is waived for students who qualify for Free or Reduced Lunch. PHOTO/VIDEO IMAGE RELEASE* I understand that MYS will not share audition videos publicly. However I give MYS permission to photograph and record video, images, and audio of the musician while participating in any MYS activity. I understand these images and recordings may be used by MYS to promote MYS and/or its musicians. I agree that neither I nor the musician will receive compensation for MYS’s use of such images or recordings.
WAIVER, RELEASE, AND AGREEMENT* I hereby waive, release, discharge and agree to hold MYS and its officers, employees, directors and volunteers harmless from and against any and all claims, damages, injuries, or liability of any nature arising from or related to participation of the musician in any MYS activity, including but not limited to rehearsals, performances, tours and other activities, including without limitation those arising out of or attributable to exposure, infection, and/or spread of COVID-19 or any variant thereof.
